Donna Miller has been practicing law for over 20 years. She is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Division.
Donna represents people who are divorcing or who need help with other custody, support, and legal issues. Donna works in partnership with her clients to ensure that they are informed about the process and that their interests are protected. Whether complex or straightforward, she understands that every case is important to the parties and that the outcome can impact lives for many years.
She also represents employers, insurers, and claimants before the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commissioner, and she advises both large and small companies on workers’ compensation issues within their operations. She has represented clients before the Iowa Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Donna is a member of the Order of the Coif, American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, Iowa Association of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers, and Iowa Defense Counsel Association. She was appointed by the Iowa Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission and by the Iowa Bar Association to serve on its Board of Directors. She is also a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Outside of work, Donna is involved in a number of non-profit organizations. She has been chair of the board of directors for Goodwill of Central Iowa and served on the board of Goodwill Industries International for nine years. Her board memberships also include LifeServe (formerly Blood Center of Iowa), the AIDS Project of Central Iowa, Habitat for Humanity, and Southwestern Hills Neighborhood Association. She is also an active volunteer for Iowa Legal Aid, assisting people who cannot afford legal counsel with family law issues. She is active in the East South Des Moines Chamber. She volunteers at a transitional women’s shelter and participates in a book club at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women. Donna was recognized by the Des Moines Business Record as a member of its “40 Under 40” 2005 Class.
