Grefe & Sidney attorney Joe Moser successfully defended against claims made by a client’s former employee, who alleged the employer had engaged in sexual discrimination and harassment against her. Over the span of several months, the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission conducted an investigation into the former employee’s allegations. Attorney Moser defended the client during the course of the investigation, which included extensive written discovery and numerous recorded interviews of the client’s employees and supervisors.
On October 30, 2013, the EEOC determined, based upon its investigation, it was unable to establish any violation of applicable law. Declining to pursue the matter further on her behalf, the EEOC issued the former employee a “right to sue” letter, providing the former employee the opportunity to proceed independently and file a law suit within 90 days. The former employee failed to do so. Moser’s successful defense allowed the client to avoid baseless and unnecessary litigation.
