Clark Mitchell is a member of the firm’s Litigation Division, where he maintains a broad civil defense practice with a particular emphasis on construction‑related claims, breach of contract disputes, and bad faith matters. He brings extensive jury trial experience to his practice, having tried a multitude of cases to verdict over the course of his more than 25‑year legal career. Clark regularly represents clients in high‑stakes litigation and is known for his practical, trial‑ready approach to resolving complex disputes.
Clark has substantial experience representing contractors and builders in all aspects of construction law, including construction defect claims, liability disputes, and related coverage issues. In addition to his legal background, he brings first‑hand knowledge of the construction industry through personal experience in contracting, framing, and carpentry. This practical experience allows him to effectively understand and address the needs of builders, contractors, and suppliers throughout Iowa.
Clark is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, the Polk County Bar Association, the Iowa Defense Counsel Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and is a past recipient of the Iowa State Bar Association Pro Bono Award.
