We are pleased to welcome Kelsey R. Leppert to our Corporate Division. Kelsey joined the firm in September 2016, following her admission to the Iowa Bar. Her practice areas include Estate Planning & Probate, Business Law, Real Estate Law, and Taxation. She lives in Pella and divides her time between the firm’s Des Moines and Pella offices. Kelsey grew up in Grimes and attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Business Management, with a specialization in International Management. While at Luther, she spent a year studying abroad in Valencia, Spain and sang in Luther’s choirs.
Kelsey graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School in May 2016. During law school, she was a member of the Drake Law Review for two years and is the published author of “From Karen Ann Quinlan to Brittany Maynard: Advance Healthcare Directives and the Road to Aid-in-Dying Legislation in Iowa” in Discourse, the Law Review’s Online Publication. She also served as President of Drake Law Women and as a Research Assistant to Professor Jerry Anderson. Kelsey practiced as a certified student attorney in the Drake Legal Clinic’s Transactional Clinic, working with non-profit organizations and small businesses and worked at the Iowa Department of Revenue in its Tax Policy and Communications division.
