Charges of Improper Sexual Contact with a Massage Therapy Client Dismissed

Posted on: June 28th, 2019

Adam Zenor and Laura Martino successfully represented a Des Moines massage therapist against his former client’s allegation of unethical conduct.

On June 6, 2017, the Iowa Board of Massage Therapy found probable case to file a Notice of Hearing and Statement of Charges against the licensed professional, specifically charging him with “unethical conduct” by “engaging in improper sexual contact with a client.”

On March 5, 2019, the Board held a hearing regarding the charges.  The hearing was closed to the public pursuant to Iowa Code section 272C.6(1).  Zenor and Martino provided a vigorous defense and respectfully urged the Board dismiss the charges.

On June 4, 2019, the Board issued its written decision, which agreed with the defense and ordered the Statement of Charges dismissed.
