Attorney Spotlight: Zach Hufferd

Where are you from?
I am from Connersville, Indiana.

Where did you go to high school and undergrad?
I attended Connersville High School, and I received my undergraduate degree from Anderson University in Indiana.

Did you go to law school immediately after graduating from undergrad? If not, what did you do during that period?
I did not go to law school immediately after graduating from undergrad. During that time, I worked at a community bank in Indiana and completed my MBA.

Why did you decide to go to law school and become an attorney?
I took the LSAT immediately following graduation from undergrad. My intention was to go straight to law school, but an opportunity at the bank opened, and I decided to begin my career instead. While working at the bank, I realized my interests didn’t lie as much in the financial side, but in navigating the legal problems that arise for businesses and business owners.

What attracted you to Grefe & Sidney and what do you like most about the firm?
During law school, I had the opportunity to intern at Grefe & Sidney. While interning, I experienced the culture of the firm and everyone’s willingness to assist and mentor. Having the ability to ask questions and receive guidance early in my career was important to me. The open-door policy will allow me to grow as an attorney and provide the best representation possible for our clients.

What do you like most about being an attorney?
My favorite part of being an attorney is tailoring solutions to client’s unique circumstances. I enjoy getting to know the client and their goals, which then helps develop the best solution for them.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Hobbies?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two dogs. I also enjoy playing softball, cycling, and watching TV shows and movies.
